At the October 9th meeting the general membership of the Calcasieu Boat Club voted to raise the annual dues to $100 for a single membership and $50 for a spouse (must be married) membership. A spouse does not have to pay membership dues if he/she does not wish to have voting privilages, hold a board position or reserve the boat club building for a personal function. In the past new member dues was $60 for the first year and $50 a year thereafter. Spouse dues remains the same as before at $50. The increase amounts to $50 per year for a married couple or a single. Any new members accepted before December 31st, 2007 will pay the new dues rates and will be paid through December 31st, 2008.
Elections for all Board Officers will be held at the December 11th meeting. Candidates for the offices of Commodore and Treasurer must be a member in good standing for a minimum of three (3) years. Candidates for all other offices must be a member in good standing for a minimum of two (2) years.
